Whistler Biodiversity Project
The Whistler Biodiversity Project is a multi-year project to catalogue and help preserve Whistlers native species. The Naturalists contribute to the Biodiversity Project by organizing annual BioBlitz and Fungus Among Us events that continually add to the Projects overall species list. The study area for the project extends to the edge of the boundaries of the Resort Municipality of Whistler.
Each year between 50 and 100 species are added from our annual BioBlitz and Fungus Among Us events to the Whistler list. The grand total is now approaching 5,000 species and continues to be updated each year.
