By participating in the Fantastic Fungi Foto Contest (the "Contest"), you agree to the following terms and conditions:

1. Entry Submission:

   • All entries must be submitted electronically by emailing FAUphotos [at]gmail.com. 

   • Each participant may submit a maximum of one (1) photo per category.

   • Entries must be original works of the participant and must not infringe upon the rights of any third party.

   • Entries must feature mushrooms as the primary subject matter.

   • Photos must be taken in the Sea-to-Sky corridor (Squamish to Pemberton).

   • Photos must be taken in September or October 2024.

   • Entries must be labeled with the participant's name and the intended photo category.

2. Photo Size:

   • Photo size must not exceed 2 MB (minimum 1 MB).

3. Entry Deadline:

   • The entry deadline is at 5:00 PM (PST) on October 14, 2024. All photo entries must be submitted before the deadline.

4. Judging and Winners:

   • Entries will be judged based on creativity, composition, and relevance to the theme.

   • Winners will be selected by a panel of judges appointed by the Whistler Naturalists, and their decisions are final.

   • Winners will be announced LIVE during our Talks by Gurus on Friday, October 18, 2024.

   • Prizes will be awarded to the top entries as determined by the judges. 

   • Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.

5. Rights to Disqualify:

   • Fantastic Fungi Foto reserves the right to disqualify any entry that violates these terms and conditions or is found to be fraudulent or misleading.

6. Ownership and Permissions:

   • By submitting your entry, you grant Fantastic Fungi Foto permission to use, display, and reproduce your submitted photos for promotional and marketing purposes. This includes posting the photos on our website, sending them via email, and sharing them on our social media channels.

   • You confirm that you have obtained all necessary permissions and releases from any identifiable individuals featured in the photographs, as well as any necessary permissions for photographing private property or copyrighted works.

7. Publicity:

   • By participating in the Contest, you agree to allow Fantastic Fungi Foto to use your name and likeness for promotional and marketing purposes without additional compensation.

8. Liability:

   • Fantastic Fungi Foto is not responsible for any technical issues, lost or delayed entries, or other problems that may affect your ability to participate in the Contest.

   • Fantastic Fungi Foto is not responsible for any injuries, losses, or damages incurred as a result of participation in the Contest.

9. Prize Collection:

   • Winners must collect their prizes in person in Whistler before November 1, 2024.

10. Changes and Termination:

    • Fantastic Fungi Foto reserves the right to modify or terminate the Contest at any time, for any reason, without notice.

11. Governing Law:

    • These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of British Columbia, Canada, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia, Canada.

 

By participating in the Fantastic Fungi Foto Contest, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any of these terms, please do not enter the Contest. The Whistler Naturalists Society reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time, and any such amendments will be posted on the Contest website.
